5/24/2023 0 Comments Transformers Rescue Bots by HasbroMy son wants to be a Rescue Bot (even the whole family joins in) so he can help mom, dad, brother, even his small town. Sometimes you'll be surprised to know your child has "sponged" something unexpected, like the act of kindness of others. I always try to ask my son questions about the shows or movies he watches. Netflix and eOne announce Transformers: BotBots, a new 20-episode animated comedy series following the mischievous little Transformers robots, otherwise known as BotBots. He sees how the Rescue Bots and the "Griffin Rock team" (the police chief, firefighter, helicopter pilot, etc) go out of their way to help and save the people who live in Griffin Rock. My son is four (turning five next month) and the only thing he "sponges" from this show is the importance of helping and saving others. I do not have the same concerns as a previous parent/reviewer who commented about the women being too curvy and men looking too strong with square jaws and six packs. Since then he has seen all the episodes (numerous times) and hasn't got sick of viewing them yet. My oldest son first became interested in Rescue Bots when my husband and I purchased the Rescue Bots game for his LeapPad. Because now mental health disorders have gone “mainstream”. “Mental illnesses have gone too far the other way. This is one of my favourite passages from the book and I feel it gives you an idea of Bourne's approach. This is a fantastic look in to mental health and the way we perceive people and their illnesses, and whilst this is a serious subject which Bourne handles fantastically, she softens the seriousness with humour without dismissing the message. There are several scenes, filled with emotion and tension and I dont doubt that they would eevoke strong feelings from the author, but when you can hear Sandersons emotion behind Evies words it tugs at the heart more and gives the scene an extra depth. Bourne has done a fantastic job of writing this book, and Charlie Sanderson has done an amazing job at bring Evie's story to life. If you are going to read this book, or perhaps you have already read it once and thinking of a second read, I'd seriously recommend giving the audible version a go. 5/24/2023 0 Comments Fear Nothing by Lisa GardnerHer success crosses into the small screen with four of her novels becoming movies and personal appearances on television shows. What if our America is not dead, but a nation still waiting to be born?” Kaur says. The concept of revolutionary love, which her publisher told her is “a cultural intervention,” is her process of asking questions that she believes will lead us to a more peaceful world. Thus began her real work around the idea of revolutionary love, which is the work that guides her today, both with her book, “See No Stranger,” and with the platform she has created online around education and tools for how to talk about 9/11. 5/23/2023 0 Comments Mindset dr carol s dweckWe don’t like to think of them as relatively ordinary people who made themselves extraordinary.” “We like to think of our champions and idols as superheroes who were born different from us. “Picture your brain forming new connections as you meet the challenge and learn. “This is something I know for a fact: You have to work hardest for the things you love most.” These fantastic quotes from Carol Dweck’s book Mindset will inspire you to grow!
